An authentic life.

A life of simplicity.

A life of service.

The Parable of the Two Sons
“What do you think? A man had two sons; he went to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work in the vineyard today.’ He answered, ‘I will not’; but later he changed his mind and went. The father[e] went to the second and said the same; and he answered, ‘I go, sir’; but he did not go. Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said, “The first.” Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are going into the kingdom of God ahead of you. For John came to you in the way of righteousness and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him; and even after you saw it, you did not change your minds and believe him.

Meditation: Workers

Work

The sage works quietly,

seeking neither praise nor fame;

completing what he does with natural ease,

and then retiring.

This is the way and nature of Tao.

Chapter 9 – Tao Te Ching

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth,

where moth and rust consume

and where thieves break in and steal;

but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven,

where neither moth nor rust consumes

and where thieves do not break in and steal.

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Matthew 6:19-21

Quiet.

Work in silence and simplicity.

Offer your treasure.

Food to the hungry. Water to the thirsty.

Welcome the stranger. Clothe the naked.

Tend the sick. Visit prisoners.

Then be still.
