One of the joys of living in Southern California is the opportunity to touch the warmth of the Earth for most of the year.  I walk barefoot and touch the Earth most days.  Even if it’s just a few moments on a small patch of grass, I touch the Earth.  It’s December 1st and the weather is warm.  As I touch the Earth there’s a sense of renewal. As I touch the Earth there’s a sense of  intimacy with all life.  Metta – lovingkindness – allows me to touch the inner space of the Spirit.  This inner space awakens a deep intimacy with all Nature. We’re a part of Nature.  We’re a part of each other.

Touch the Earth. Be lovingkindness.

Like water, the sage abides in a humble place;

in meditation, without desire; in thoughtfulness, he is profound, and in his dealings, kind.

In speech, sincerity guides the man of Tao, and as a leader, he is just.

In management, competence is his aim, and he ensures the pacing is correct.

Chapter 8 – Tao Te Ching

The fruit of the Spirit is

love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity,

faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

There is no law against such things.

Galatians 5:22-23
