To be full we must embrace emptiness.

Why is it that it often takes a loss before we realize what we had in a person, place or thing?  This Thanksgiving was a rich gift.  As I looked at my mom and sister – the two people with whom I shared Thanksgiving 2013 – I realized I had so much to be thankful for.  Each day as I think on friends, family and the kindness of strangers I realize the rich blessings of this life.  Nature itself is a witness to how richly blessed we are.  Even in the midst of the terrible abuse that humankind is visiting upon the Earth; the planet continues to feed us with drinkable water, fertile soil, essential air and just enough warmth from the sun to sustain life. What relationships are in need of repair in your life?  We repair the Earth and all our relationships through mindfulness and the work of love.

Be thankful. Be mindful. Be kind.

Let the healing begin.

Yield, and maintain integrity.
To bend is to be upright;
to be empty is to be full.
Chapter 22 – Tao Te Ching

God put this power to work in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the age to come. And he has put all things under his feet and has made him the head over all things for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.
