Matthew Sparks

Leaves fall

Crunching beneath my feet

The last summer breeze kisses my skin

I follow You through the maze of life

Your name echoes in my heart

We climb the highest mountain

I am elevated

Arms spread wide

I am alive

With You close by

Like a child

Innocence is a reality

Not an illusion

You are Creator

I am a Creation

The miracle is

That You want me

And I need You

Reality cuts me off balance

I fall from the cliff

Gravity drags me down

I am shattered on the ground

You lift me back up

If only for a moment

You lift me up

To where eagles soar

Where pain is just a memory

Where I am free

To just be the creation

You created me to be

Ours is a blind love

That defies any explanation

The Word Became Flesh

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being. What has come into being in him was life, and the life was the light of all people. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.

John 1:1-5
